Prog Biophys Mol Biol. ;54(2) Electrophysiology of the pancreatic beta-cell. Ashcroft FM, Rorsman P. PMID: [Indexed for MEDLINE]Cited by: the cells called islets of langerhans are inside the pancreas.
there are 5 types of cellgs within the islets of langerhans. The alpha cells produce glucagon, the beta cells produce insulin, delta. The pancreatic islets or islets of Langerhans are parts of the pancreas.
They have cells that make hormones. Some of these cells are beta cells that produce the hormone insulin. D-cells, or Delta cells, can be found in the stomach, intestine, or Islets of Langerhans (the hormone producing regions of the pancreas which also produce glucagon and insulin).
